Nicolas joined up with Frank Leroux to share a joint passion for Millesimes and brought Champagne Infinite Eight to life to bring a range of excellent Millesimes to the Marketplace. Only produced in the best years and conditions, bottled in black bottles marked with an 8 and the and the symbol for infinity, synonyms for balance, symmetry, harmony and perfection.
Their first Millesime was the 2002, only marketed in 2013 after 10 years in the cellar. the 2003 followed in 2014 in both Brut and Extra Brut versions.
The wines are pressed by the cooperative and vinified in Stainless steel before Nicolas and Frank assemble and then bottle the wines. The presses are still in place at Villedommange but are not in a state to be used currently, and the objective for Nicolas is to continue to seek out the best juice from their own holding and from other great growers and work from there, so eventually the status will be NM Negoce Manipulant.
Infinite 8 Champagne is the story of the rebirth of the Champagne House of Edmond Roussin a family that had been working the vines since the French Revolution. Marc Letixerant was the owner of the House inherited from his Grandmother, his father Philippe was a presence in the Champagne world, finishing his career as Communications Director of the CIVC.
Champagne Edmond Roussin regularly shipped to Asia, the USA and Great Britain in the 40's and 50's but unfortunately closed its doors in 1970. The presses of the Estate were used by Krug from 1970 to 1976.
Nicolas Letexirant decided to revive the family's interest 20 years ago by replanting the vineyards and resurrecting the long dormant family business.
The packaging and Presentation of the the Infinite 8 range is always innovative and intriguing, with special short limited edition bottles, watch this space.
